Lovely Mini Dress from the Meghan Shop

Hey,

I was looking around on the Meghan Shop Website, and found this very sexy summer mini dress.

When it comes to this dress, what caught my attention is the way the back is done.

I am a fan of unique elements in clothing and I believe that this is what separates this dress from some of the other ones that were there.

It is also great for photographing because for the most part it is just one colour, and it is a lot easier to photograph a uniform colour as opposed to patterns.

Although mini dresses are not for everyone, because they are quite short and may not be appropriate for certain occasions, I believe that it would look good with black leggings and high heel shoes.

Thoughts?

Fashion Tape, Reusable Adhesive Bra, Bra Clips, and Cleavage Enhancer?

So, I was looking at the Playboy Store, which has a wide selection of sexy lingerie, costumes, accessories, jewelry, swimwear and other stuff.

I found a few things that I think would be useful under the “Accessories” category.

First, I believe that they are useful regardless of whether you’re going to a shoot, a meeting, or out for a night with some friends. There is nothing worse than dancing at a club and having a wardrobe malfunction of some sort.

Second, I think that they are inexpensive and are staples to a woman’s wardrobe for the aforementioned reasons.

1. Reusable Adhesive Bra

It is great for wearing under backless and strapless garments. Even bras that have the so called “invisible/clear straps” can be seen when you are wearing a backless or strapless dress.

2.Bra Clips

Bra clips help hide your bra straps, especially when the bra straps get stretched out by regular wear and tear and the bra loses some of its support. The bra clips prevent bra straps from falling out from under racerback tops, and tanks. In addition to hiding the straps, bra clips create more tension in the straps, adding more overall support to the bra.

3. Fashion Tape

Fashion tape is a double-sided adhesive which keeps clothing items in place. It is particularly useful when trying to keep bra traps from showing, or keeping edges of dresses and low cut shirts in place (especially if you are going to a party, where you will be moving a lot).

4. Cleavage Enhancer

Cleavage enhancers allow your clothing to fit better if you are not very endowed in the chest area. They also help give your body more sexy feminine shape.

What other accessories of such nature do you think are useful? Do you use any of the above?

Gloria Burton: Black Dress

Wardrobe/Styling: Gloria Burton
Hair/Make-up/Model: Me

I think that Gloria Burton is a great designer. She is incredibly talented in what she does, and it is no wonder that her designs were worn by celebrities at the Oscars. I was very lucky to get a chance to work with her. 🙂

My Favorite Pink Top

A while back, I wanted to do a photoshoot that involved my favorite pink shirt (there will most likely be more photos of this shirt). I like to wear this shirt because it is not too dressy, but at the same time it looks nice enough to shoot in. I also like the way the top part of it was designed.

As for the skirt, I got it at a department store a few years ago, and I’m glad it still fits 😀

Featured Business: Marissa Collections

Marissa Collections is a store featuring beautiful designer clothes. Some of the dsigners sold at Marissa Collections include Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, and many many more.

The reason I chose to write about Marissa Collections is because when I look at their website and the items they sell, I honestly believe that they deserve to be one of the top high-end fashion stores. The store has been around for 30 years, according to their website, and will most likely be around for that long in the future.

If I had an extra $3000 (but being a student I do not at the moment), I would definitely go on a big shopping spree at Marissa Collections. I have always been fascinated by some of their high end wardrobe & shoes (well, which girl isn’t?).

Here are some of my favorites from the store aka the items that I would buy:

Alexander McQueen

Lanvin Shoes. I love them. They are gorgeous!

Go for the Green with Gloria Burton

Wardrobe: Gloria Burton
Hair, Make-Up, and Model: Me

This photo was taken last year. Gloria Burton was the wardroe stylist for Hawaii 50. She also designed and made gowns for Olivia Newton John and Jennifer Garner, which they wore to the Oscars.

It was an honour to work with someone as successful as Gloria Burton. I hope I get to work with her again.

Although she is retired, she still has a closet full of UNIQUE, AMAZING pieces that I will never forget.

If I am lucky, I might be able to interview her one day.

Have a great day!

Featuring World Jewels

World Jewels is an online jewelry store. The store has the highest quality of diamond, gold, and silver from all over the world, and that is part of the reason why it is called “World Jewels“. There is an amazing selection of engagement rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, watches, 18/14K gold, platinum, diamonds and much more.

WorldJewels

I checked out their stuff, and it is so beautiful!

Some of my favorite dresses from StyleBop

Stylebop is a designer fashion online retailer. The store features designers such as Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham, Derek Lam, Juicy Couture, Loewe. Ossie Clarke, Valentino, Woolrich, and many more!

While looking through Stylebop, I found some of my favorites. What do you think?

Here are some of my favorite dresses:

Above: This is an Alberta Ferretti embroidered silk dress. Although it is expensive, I cannot help but add it to my favorites. It is an amazing dress. I love the color, the embroidery around the neckline and chest, as well as the beautiful design. I think that this would be a great dress for wearing to a formal event!

Above: Blumarine Amber Ruffles And Jewelry Detailing Dress. I love this dress because it is form-fitting, which means that it will give you a nice, slim feminine silhouette. Also, I love the way the Swarovski brooch adds an element of interest and focus to the dress. It leads the eye to the waist, and would definitely look great on women who have an hourglass figure.

Above: Paule Ka Indigo 3/4 Sleeve Jersey Dress. I love this dress because it is very classy, elegant, and well-designed. I like how it accentuates the waist, and is loose on the bottom. It looks great and it is not too “dressy”

Above: Jitrois Black Leather Stretch Dress. Personally, I like the colour black. It goes with pretty much everything. The thing that I like most about this dress is that it is slimming, gorgeous, elegant and sexy. It would look great with ankle boots and a black handbag.

Above: Michael Stars Royal Dolman Jersey Dress. I like it because it is fairly inexpensive for a designer dress and this type of blue is definitely my favorite colour. You can wear it with leggings or skinny jeans, as well as accessorize for that very stylish look.

Markus Klinko & Indrani Ace Daphne Guinness Shoot for The London Sunday Times

Earlier this month, I interviewed New York photographer Markus Klinko. In his interview, Markus stated that he and Indrani (his creative partner) shot Daphne Guinness for The London Sunday Times.

Daphne Guinnes is a beautiful fashionista/couture collector from London. She is the heiress of the Guinness Beer fortune. She is well known for her couture clothing collection, and for being a prominent fashion icon.

When Markus told me about the collaboration with Daphne Guinness, I knew right away that they were going to come up with something great. Markus & Indrani are well-known for their iconic celebrity images and spectacular photo spreads in the world’s biggest magazines. (You can read more about Markus & Indrani on their WEBSITE)

Why do I love the image above? First, the image is perfectly composed with Daphne’s face right at the point of interest (rule of thirds). Second, the subtleness of the Gothic architecture makes this such a great choice of location, that it’s very hard not to keep staring at the photo. I definitely love the choice of wardrobe, which is incredible, especially because of the way it leads the viewer to the main point of interest in the shot. The lighting is perfect and even throughout the whole image.

Why do I love the image above? First off, the concept is cool and very interesting. Although I am not a big fan of snakes, I think that the snake adds an element of uniqueness in the shot. As usual, the image is perfectly composed and evenly lit. I love her outfit in this shot as well.

Above: Directed by Indrani is a short, ~one minute film, called A Tribute to the Spirit of Alexander McQueen starring Daphne Guinness. It features fashions of Alexander McQueen, Genghis Khan, Gareth Pugh, Philip Treacy, New York Vintage, Bess and Fred Leighton.
